When used in a high-temperature oxidizing atmosphere, they produce a bright, dense quartz (SiO2) glass film on the surface, which protects the inner layer of the silicon-molybdenum rod from oxidation, resulting in unique high-temperature oxidation resistance. Its general operating temperature range is 1600-1900°C. The resistivity of the element increases rapidly with increasing temperature.
