Design of silicon carbide rod power supply equipment
The most common control method of the electric heating feeding channel is to control the transformer once in anti-parallel with thyristor, and the transformer second time is connected with a corresponding set of silicon carbide rods.In terms of transformer design, it is the same as other electric furnace transformers, and its capacity design must leave a certain margin. The transformer for the forehearth is generally designed for a single-phase 380 V incoming line voltage, and the secondary voltage matches the resistance and power of the connected silicon carbide rods. As mentioned earlier, silicon carbide rods will age during use, and the resistance will increase, even increasing to 4 times the initial resistance during the life span. Therefore, the secondary voltage of the transformer must have several adjustable voltage levels. Each level is designed as a constant power. The lowest level voltage is designed according to the initial resistance of the silicon carbide rod. The remaining voltage levels are designed according to the aging of the resistance, the highest level. The voltage should be twice the lowest level. In this way, the resistance of the silicon carbide rod increases after a period of time, and the power required for heating cannot be met, so the voltage is increased by one level, and the heating power can be satisfied. By analogy, the service life of the silicon carbide rod is guaranteed. This kind of design is the most standardized, and it can be seen everywhere on the feeding channel in the past few years. The secondary voltage is often designed into 4 levels, namely 60V, 80V, 100V and 120V.
