Description

Alumina Ceramic Sheet is a widely known and commonly used precision ceramic material. It is a ceramic material with alumina (Al2O3) as the main material. It has been used in electrical components because of its high electrical insulation properties. It is also a material with balanced mechanical performance parameters, so it is used in a wide range of applications, including shelling machine blades, textile industry guide wheels, ceramic guide rails and other industries.

Common Molding Methods

Grouting method: Grouting is the earliest molding method for alumina ceramics. Due to the use of plaster molds, the cost is low and it is easy to form large size and complex shape parts. The key to grouting is the preparation of alumina slurry. Usually water is used as the melt medium, then a debinding agent and a binder are added, fully ground and vented, and then poured into a plaster mold. Due to the capillary absorption of water in the gypsum mold, the slurry cures in the mold. When hollow grouting, the excess slurry needs to be poured out when the mold walls absorb the slurry to the required thickness. To reduce shrinkage of the blank, a high concentration of slurry should be used whenever possible.

Alumina ceramic slurries also require the addition of organic additives to form a double electric layer on the surface of the slurry particles to keep the slurry in stable suspension without settling. In addition, binders such as vinyl alcohol, methyl cellulose, sodium alginate amine and dispersants such as polypropylene amine and gum arabic must be added. The purpose is to make the slurry suitable for grouting and molding operations.
