Pay Attention To Safety When Using Mountain-shaped Silicon Carbide Rods

Jul 02, 2021

(1) The length of the cold end of the silicon carbide rod should be equal to the thickness of the furnace wall plus the length of the cold end protruding from the furnace wall. Generally, the extended length of the cold end is 50-150mm to cool the cold end and the connecting fixture.

(2) The inner diameter of the furnace through the silicon carbide rod should be 1.4 to 1.6 times the outer diameter of the cold end. If the furnace hole is too small or the filling in the hole is too tight, the high temperature will hinder the free expansion of the silicon carbide rod and cause breakage. Baton. During installation, the silicon carbide rod should be able to rotate 360 degrees freely.

(3) The distance between the mountain-shaped silicon carbide rod and the heated object and the furnace wall should be greater than or equal to 3 times the diameter of the heating part. The center distance between the silicon carbide rod and the silicon carbide rod should not be less than 4 times the diameter of the heating part.

(4) The cold end of the mountain-shaped silicon carbide rod is connected to the main circuit with aluminum braid or aluminum foil. The clamp at the cold end must be clamped tightly.

(5) Newly built furnaces or electric furnaces that have not been used for a long time should be baked before use, and old rods or other heat sources should be used.

(6) Mountain-shaped silicon carbide rods have long continuous service life; intermittent service life is short.

(7) When using mountain-shaped silicon carbide rods, choose a reasonable surface load density and operating temperature. The operating temperature should not be greater than 1650°C; when used in a hazardous gas environment, it is necessary to prevent the silicon carbide rod from chemically reacting with the hazardous gas.

(8) Prevent the mountain-shaped silicon carbide rod from splashing with molten metal. Splashing with molten metal can easily cause the rod to break.
